History, Humor, Heart: Newark Planners Depict Riverfront as Unfolding Drama
The Newark Riverfront Guide was researched, written and designed by a team led by Damon Rich (former Planning Director & Chief Urban Designer for the City of Newark), including staff from the Newark Planning Office and the design firm MTWTF. The designers worked in consultation with groups including Ironbound Community Corporation, Friends of Riverfront Park, Lenape Lifeways, New Jersey Historical Society, and Newark Public Library.
Printed copies of the poster are free for all Newark educators, and can be ordered for $5 including shipping & handling from newarkfriendsofriverfrontpark@gmail.com or (862) 955–2577.
The project was commissioned by Newark Riverfront Revival, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting every Newarker to the river, and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Program, the Environmental Protection Agency Urban Waters Program, the City of Newark, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts–New York.
