In Spring Lake, NJ, over 50 nonprofits, social services, faith based organizations, government agencies, and educators engage in a dialogue about disaster preparedness and lessons learned through Hurricane Sandy. The cross-sector convening is called "Creative NJVOAD," and is co-organized by NJ Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and Creative New Jersey. "The Long Term Recovery Group is the community coming together," says Reverend Peter Hofstra of Perth Amboy. "I think it's a very good model."
