This webinar will familiarize municipalities and green teams on the Sustainable Jersey brownfields actions and provide information on the beneficial reuse of blighted or abandoned properties that are potentially contaminated. These properties, also known as "brownfields" can be repurposed for community health and safety and economic revitalization. Repurposing a brownfield site takes advantage of existing infrastructure and transit and reduces pressure on undeveloped or "greenfields" properties. A redevelopment roadmap will be provided that parallels the three brownfield actions: Inventory and Prioritization; Marketing; and Reuse Planning. Presenters include: Jean Hamerman, Deputy Director, The Creative Center for Land Recycling; Bill Lindner, Manager, Office of Brownfield Reuse, Site Remediation and Waste Management Program, NJDEP; Leah Yasenchak, Principal, BRS, Inc.; and JR Capasso, Brownfields Coordinator, Division of Economic Development, Department of Housing & Economic Development, Trenton City.
